What is an HOA Committee?

An HOA committee is a group of community members tasked with helping the HOA board with a specific job. Similar to the HOA board, HOA committee positions are filled on a volunteer basis.

HOA committees are great because they accomplish two things at once.

First, committees assist the association board by fulfilling various duties.

Second, committees encourage participation from owners. HOA committees allow residents to contribute and give back to the community they live in. They are perfect for owners who want to get involved but cannot fully commit to serving on the HOA board.

About the Architectural Committee
An HOA Architectural Review Committee (ARC) is responsible for reviewing and approving or denying requests for exterior modifications to homes within the community. Their primary goal is to ensure that any changes adhere to the community's architectural guidelines and maintain the overall aesthetic and property values.
About the Finance Committee
An HOA finance committee primarily assists the board in managing the association's finances. This includes tasks like creating and reviewing the annual budget, managing reserves, tracking expenditures, monitoring investments, and ensuring proper financial records are maintained.
About the Planning Committee
An HOA planning committee's primary function is to help the HOA board make informed decisions regarding the community's future. This can involve reviewing architectural plans, managing budgets, reviewing vendor proposals, or addressing specific community concerns, depending on the committee's focus.
